Oil painting -- The new girl
This 16x20 mixed media painting is called 'The new girl'. As per usual, I don't know the title until later. I never (never so far?) start with a title. I'm a visual artist. I start with the visuals.
WHY do I love this painting? Because it's gutzy. I started off with bright pink spray paint and then layered on acrylic and faux gold leaf and oil paint and just kept going until it felt awesome.
YES, her hair is blue (or purple-ish, but it felt so fun to do that!). I painted flowers for the entire month of January because my first shot with this chrysanthemum didn't work out.
Will there be more paintings like this? I have no idea. If this one resonates with you be sure to let me know. I'm feeling all of these female empowerment vibes and it may go to my head. ;)
